Modell Center Hünerbein is a traditional business from Aachen and a well-known name in the world of model making. Founded in 1946 and now run by the third generation, Hünerbein offers a huge range of over 52,000 items. From model trains in all track sizes to slot cars, airplanes and much more, model builders big and small will find everything their hearts desire. The design of the new web store was to retain the familiar look and feel of the company - but present the products in a fresh, modern and clearly structured way with extensive filter and search functions. We implemented the new webshop on the basis of Shopware 6. We developed individual plugins for special requirements, such as the option to pre-order specific items via a separate shopping cart. We implemented Elasticsearch to optimize performance and improve search results. The Aacheners among us have known Hünerbein for at least as long as the Aachen market and it is a special pleasure for us to be able to design this webshop.
